Use a metal tape measure. Make sure the tape measure is taut when taking measurements.
Full Blockout Cassette Blinds System
Always write down the width measurement first and then the drop measurement second on all blinds. Add 100mm extra on the width and 151mm on the drop measurement. This is to allow for potential fixing into timber or steel studs and for tracks too clear the recess (*Note there is no guarantee of fixings for blinds with this scenario. Check for fixings prior to ordering).
Top and Side Cassette System (Additional Measurements)
Always write down the width measurement first and then the drop measurement second on all blinds. Add 100mm extra on both the width and 151mm (cassette 101mm + 50mm blind cover) to the drop measurement for windows. This will allow for better light control.
Should you wish your Side Channels to sit flush with bottom of your window/door sill only add 101mm to the drop measurement (Cassette Only). You will still need to add 100mm to your width. You will need to consider the option that will best suit your needs. For better light control we recommend adding the (Full Blockout Cassette) measurements.
Only write measurements down in millimetres.
Write down the preferred control side on each individual blind.
Document the smallest measurement of three spot measurements for width and drop. To hide the fact window/door maybe out of square.
Always double check measurements with the measurements you have written down.
Watch for protruding door/window hardware that might interfere with blind operation.
