How to Measure Outdoor Automatic Awning

Automatic Awnings work well as face fit blinds, document in notes if you are looking to recess fit. Note; the headbox and guide rails require solid fixings, Guide rails are generally around 30-35mm in from edge of hood. Which makes face fit generally a better option.
Measuring Instructions
Items you will need
Use a metal tape measure. Make sure the tape measure is taught when taking measurements.
Always write down the width measurement first and then the drop measurement second on all blinds.
Only write measurements down in millimetres.
With Automatic Awning Pull Down Ring is placed in middle. The only pull down method is manual.
For Face Fit Automatic Awnings document the actual window measurement. check three spots measurements for width and drop. You will need to add minimum 250mm on the horizontal measurement (line a) for weatherboard construction and around 350mm for Brick Veneer construction.You will need to add 200mm minimum, to the vertical measurement (line b) for hood box and any allowance you would like blind to go past the window.We recommend to add 200mm below the window, meaning the total extra drop is 400mm overall.The valance is included in your overall drop measurement.Each individual scenario will need to be assessed prior to placing order.
For Recess Fit document the Smallest measurement of three spot measurements for width and drop for recess fit. Our manufacture will allow for all appropriate deductions, please note blind is a recess fit.Ensure the head box/awning does not obstruct with awning window.Allow 200mm minimum into reccess to determine window will work with headbox size. Each individual scenario will need to be assessed prior to placing you order.Ensure the head box/awning does not obstruct with awning window
Always double check measurements with the measurements you have written down.
Watch for protruding objects that might interfere with blind operation. The Automatic Awning Arms can be selected in 150mm,300mm,450mm. The 300mm Auto Arm is the one we prefer to use with most awning windows and 150mm Auto Arm for sliding windows. Take into consideration driveways, paths, downpipes when ordering your preferred arm length.
You will also need to determine your required pull stick length, based on the in centre of Automatic awning and comfortable reach height. Allow for two hands spread apart, with the bottom hand confirming where to start the lower measurement from to the top height of the awning. You will also require space between your bottom hand and ground to operate you pull stick.
